In our reading Kokoro, there is an ongoing idea of loneliness. This idea of loneliness is still prevalent in society today. Even with our technology making our generation more interconnected than ever we still experience loneliness. I believe this loneliness is in fact caused by technology. Social media, something designed to connect us had divided us. In detail, social media has removed the need for human interaction. Rather than talking to friends we text them. These screens act as barriers preventing us from socializing with our friends and family. These screens are the cause of loneliness. On a biological level social interaction is a must for humans. It is evolutionary trait as humans were dependent on each other for survival. It was safer to be part of a group and increased ones chance of survival. But modern society has taken away that necessity of close communities thus causing this idea of loneliness.
